July is self-care month and is a time to pause, reflect, and invest in what nourishes us. It marks the 5th anniversary since the World Health Organisation issued its guidelines on self-care practices for mental health and wellbeing. In it, the WHO recognises the importance of nature and the outdoors for our sense of contentment which really resonates with us here at Alnwick Soap HQ because we believe that being in nature really can help us feel better.
At Alnwick Soap Co, we believe self-care starts with nature and it’s one of the inspirations behind our business. We wanted to capture the sense of being out in nature in the essential oil blends we use in our products, bridging nature and nurture.
Natural products do more than smell good. They promote well-being holistically. Plant-based oils can ease stress, support immunity, and enhance sleep. Their chemical-free composition is kinder to your skin and the planet, making them a conscious choice for your self-care routine.
In a world that tends to move very quickly, nature offers the opportunity for calm which we often need. A walk in the woods, the smell of wildflowers, the grounding feel of earth beneath our feet or the fresh smell of a coastal breeze are all reminders that self-care and healing doesn’t need to be rocket science.
International Self-Care Month is a gentle nudge to embrace rituals that replenish. Whether it’s mindfully washing hands whilst breathing in beautiful aromas, soaking in a botanical-infused bath, or simply taking a moment of stillness, small choices lead to lasting wellness and by making sustainable choices that help protect the planet, this is what we call NATURE NURTURE.
If you can, take time to step into nature, even for a few moments, close your eyes and just be.
